Former Anambra State governor and Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has accused airport authorities of applying parking regulations selectively after his vehicle was clamped for allegedly being improperly parked.

Speaking during an interview on Real Broadcasting Network, Obi said he was informed that the vehicle had been clamped because it was parked in the wrong location.

He explained that he usually travels to the airport with only one vehicle, unlike some prominent individuals who arrive with large convoys without facing similar sanctions.

“Whenever I go to the airport, I go with only one vehicle. I have seen people arrive with 20 vehicles, yet mine was the only one clamped, while those with large convoys were left untouched,” Obi said.

The former governor described the incident as an example of unequal enforcement of regulations, arguing that laws should apply equally to everyone, regardless of political status, wealth or influence.

He maintained that selective enforcement weakens public confidence in institutions and undermines the principle of equality before the law.
