The Corporate Affairs Commission has commenced the process of removing 100,000 companies from its official register over their failure to meet statutory filing requirements.
The commission announced the development in a public notice titled “Intention to Strike Off Companies from the Register — Batch 6,” dated July 15, 2026.
According to the CAC, the action is being taken pursuant to Sections 692(3) and 692(4) of the Companies and Allied Matters Act, 2020.
The commission said the full list of affected companies had been published on its official website for members of the public and business owners to access.
Affected companies have been given 90 days from the date of the notice to file all outstanding annual returns and submit information relating to persons with significant control and beneficial ownership.
The CAC also directed the companies to regularise their records and forward evidence of compliance to [email protected].
It warned that any company that fails to comply within the stipulated period would be struck off the register without further notice.
The commission reaffirmed its commitment to providing prompt and efficient services to its customers.
