
OSOGBO — The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared incumbent Governor Ademola Adeleke of the Accord Party winner of the 2026 Osun State governorship election, securing his re-election for a second term.
Adeleke polled 511,067 votes to defeat his closest challenger, Bola Oyebamiji of the All Progressives Congress (APC), who scored 444,815 votes.
The African Democratic Congress (ADC) candidate, Najeem Salaam, finished third with 17,180 votes.
Adeleke defeated Oyebamiji by a margin of 66,252 votes following the collation of results from all 30 local government areas of Osun State.
The declaration brings to an end the closely watched governorship contest held across Osun State on Saturday, August 15, 2026.
With the victory, Adeleke has secured another four-year mandate to govern Osun State, this time on the platform of the Accord Party.
The announcement immediately triggered celebrations among Adeleke’s supporters as news of his victory spread across the state.

Accord – Ademola Adeleke: 511,067 votes
APC – Bola Oyebamiji: 444,815 votes
ADC – Najeem Salaam: 17,180 votes
